MARKET OUTLOOK – US election outcome may spark big moves.

Bursa Malaysia declined in the wake of fresh liquidation pressure the past week, pulling the FBM KLCI below the rising trendline of the existing “symmetrical triangle” pattern, thus resulting a breakdown on the daily chart.

Unlike the previous breakdowns in the past, there was no evidence of unusual selling this time round. Instead, the broader market was somewhat calm although sentiment was cautious and the market was down.

Quite obvious, Bursa Malaysia has disregarded technical reading ahead of this week’s hotly contested US presidential election, which is highly likely to influence the global markets direction, including the local bourse in the immediate term.

Make no mistake about it. Global markets will react wildly to the final result of the White House race, similar to the big moves post Brexit outcome, but whether it is up or down this round, will depend on who emerges as the winner.

All is well for a Clinton win which will see equities reversing up and the bulls charging to higher grounds on frenzy buying as the upshot is clear that the bulls are in favour of her.

In the case of a surprise victory for Trump, there is a great possibility markets around the world will sustain the downward momentum on panic selling and should that happen, investors are advised to have an exit plan in place to avoid being caught.

To the upside, the key index will face signficant resistance at 1,680 points. A successful penetration of the 1,700-point psychological barrier will see the bulls becoming more aggressive, en route to 1,730 points and higher.

On the downside, initial support is seen at 1,630 points, A crack of the lower 1,600 points may drag the market lower, either to the 1,554-1,555 point band or the 1,500-1,503 point area.

FBMKLCI WAITING RESULT OF US ELECTION

Dear All,

The FBMKLCI closed little up at +0.16 point or +0.01% to close at 1648.24.

FBMKLCI last week is disaster as it fall continuously 5 day but perfect for a short position on the index and we have made pretty happy return from the fall. As for this week, it will be much more exciting awaiting US New Presidence Result.

DJIA although did not breakdown in a big way but in total of about 400 point down and breaking 18000 and the almost two month of sideways. This of course already indicating a downtrend for pre-election result.

As for this week, since all eye on US Election Result, I suggest we continue to wait the good fish swimming into our net at bottom. We love this kind of event that may put market into panic or even too much emotion.

No matter who win, the market remain goreng tetap goreng, short term effect will cause the market big swinging. And the big direction still very depending on any big move made by new President. So I am not too negative at any one win at the moment.

Since this week is crucial, we will only focus on strong moving stock like PESONA, TNLOGIS, EKOVEST, AIRASIA, MYEG and many more stock picks listed in premium groups that we are still waiting they drop into our wealthy net.

It’s almost time and be ready with us !

Despite a weak market GLOBALLY and in MALAYSIA last week, we see all the construction sectors are very bullish, maybe can INVEST not trade in these counters as many and more projects are coming up. Construction: GKENT, KERJAYA, KIMLUN, GAMUDA, EKOVEST are top picks, seconds are GADANG (KYY is selling of his shares and does not recommend to buy anymore), WCT, IJM.

This week I will be expecting a REBOUND as current polls shows that CLINTON is leading against TRUMP. As much as I would like to see how AMERICA can be MADE GREAT again, however CLINTON’s foundation is ROCK SOLID. So for me I think Monday if any low price is a good deal. STILL, Take At your Own Risks !

Important stuffs to watch this week are the US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AND Us Energy Information Admiration Report on their Oil supply.

Oil prices are seen being bearish again once market predicts that they will fail to come to an agreement to cut oil supplies.

MYR/USD is trading around 4.2, and KLCI is lingering around 1650 points. We hope to see it back to 1660 by end of this week after market rebound !
Long term stocks:

DKSH, any good selldown is an opportunity to collect.

Stocks to watch this week 7 November to 11 November are:

PRESBHD : Last week reached a high of 2.40. anything between 2.20-2.25 is a good buy.

ECONBHD (construction): Support 1.79, TP 2.0, TP reached and closed 1.99. And then a lot of profit taking. This is a long term counter. Can continue to monitor to consider to add.

MMSV (LED and semicon in automotive inds): Support 0.64, Tp 0.705. (support broken.) will come back to this counter soon. Cold Eye did mention this counter.

TOMYPAK: Monitor for breakout at 1.65, more attention is at this counter already. It has broken out and staying above 1.65. MORE TO COME.

UEMS: (oversold) Support is at 1.08, TP 1.19. Currently at support, anything close below this support is a CUT.

KIMLUN (construction): support 2.12, TP 2.26 (touched). (bullish counter). TP2: 2.32

ECS: support 1.51 , TP 1.6. Still ok, as long as above support.

MIECO: (export) support 1.0. TP:1.14, already break out with ok volume. this counter weakening due to some strengthening of the Ringgit against USD.

Seems like AMERICA wont be GREAT, however Luckily our MARKET WILL BE SUPERMAN !

Reuters-The S&P 500 fell for an eighth straight session on Thursday, its longest losing streak since the 2008 financial crisis, as Facebook shares weighed and investors grappled with uncertainty over next week’s U.S. presidential election.

Facebook shares tumbled 5.7 percent as the world’s largest online social media network warned that revenue growth would slow this quarter.

The stock was the biggest drag on the S&P 500 as well as on the tech-heavy Nasdaq, which also posted its eighth straight day of losses.

Investors have been unnerved by signs the U.S. presidential race between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump is tightening, after Clinton had until recently been thought to have a clear lead.

Two polls showed Clinton maintaining a narrow lead nationally ahead of the Nov. 8 election, echoing other polls that have shown Clinton with a slimmer lead since the re-emergence last week of a controversy over her use of a private email server while secretary of state.

“The polls have tightened and now the concern is more about what might a Trump presidency look like and the market hasn’t quite priced that in,” said Ernie Cecilia, chief investment officer of Bryn Mawr Trust in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. “Given the fact that the election is five days away, that’s what’s driving near-term behavior right now.”

The S&P 500 lost 9.28 points, or 0.44 percent, to 2,088.66 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 47.16 points, or 0.92 percent, to 5,058.41.

The Dow Jones industrial average, which does not include Facebook among its components, fell 28.97 points, or 0.16 percent, to 17,930.67.

Alwin:
All of you see our klci and world index keep dropping , and foreign funds keep pulling out, mostly due to US presidential election, as the outcome really unpredictable. However, even in such market , some stocks remain strong or bullish… Why?
My hypothesis is that a lot of funds are pulling out from the blue chips and investing in stocks which they think can outperform the market.

Construction is a good sector to focus in, as there are many projects going on and will happen.

Plantation sector is good as well due to higher palm oil prices in recent months, as long as it is about 2500, mostly plantation company will improve.

Another sector which is good to invest in is the iot sector especially those doing LED, is worth a look.

Lastly in bad market, as a friend told me, do not simply take position, reserve cash! Unless you’re 101% sure that counter you invest in is Fundamentally Very strong technically the chart pretty like flower! If not if enter wrong counter then just draw tortoise head and cry Lo haha.

Reuters-The S&P 500 ended lower on Wednesday for a seventh straight session, its longest such streak in five years, as the Federal Reserve signaled it could hike interest rates in December and the uncertain U.S. election continued to cloud the market’s outlook.

The U.S. central bank held interest rates steady, but said the economy had gained steam and job gains remained solid, expressing more optimism that inflation was moving toward its 2 percent target.

The decision was broadly in line with expectations of investors, who have been discounting a hike at this meeting but generally bracing for one in December.

It was the last Fed decision before next week’s presidential election between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump, a race that has rattled markets as it has appeared to grow closer in the past week.

“With the Fed meeting, basically they just teed it up for an increase in December, so there was really nothing unusual … This market right now is more on the election and any technical indicators,” said Alan Lancz, president of investment advisory firm Alan B. Lancz & Associates in Toledo, Ohio.

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI fell 77.46 points, or 0.43 percent, to 17,959.64, the S&P 500 .SPX lost 13.78 points, or 0.65 percent, to 2,097.94 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC dropped 48.01 points, or 0.93 percent, to 5,105.57.

FBMKLCI START WATERFALL AND TRUMP LEADING !?

Dear All,

The FBMKLCI closed lower at -11.33 point or -0.68% to close at 1659.60.

FBMKLCI finally fall together with other countries as whole market eyeing on US President Result, when TRUMP winning rate increase, seem market not so happy.

DJIA trying to break 18000 but still consider quite strongly supported, but I am afraid it will have a sudden big break down. No matter how, the market already scared and start running like hell.

We must again highlight TNLOGIS because it’s extra ordinary bullish, if you hold it, you will get rewarded.

Besides yesterday call catch PESONA, if you smart catch at low, tomorrow got chance rebound because just announce another huge awards project worth RM 488 million. Which total got around RM 2 billion order book for a small company construction company, it’s good for improve valuation. I upgrade my target for PESONA to RM 0.60 at least when market turn good.

November is a result month, so do remember avoid holding stock too many stock that may not confidently post good result to avoid gap down.

MALAYSIA BUDGET SIGNALS STABILITY DESPITE LOW OIL REVENUE, SAYS FITCH
By CFO Innovation Asia Staff | Wednesday, November 02, 2016 – 11:05
Malaysia’s 2017 federal budget points to further stability in public finances, despite another decline in revenue from the oil & gas sector, says Fitch Ratings.

The ratings agency says Malaysia is better placed than many net commodity exporters to cope with the lingering effects of the negative shift in its terms of trade.

The dramatic fall in commodity prices since mid-2014 has been the single most important factor behind the wave of 31 emerging-market sovereign rating downgrades made by Fitch in 2015-2016. Two-thirds of these downgraded sovereigns were heavily dependent on revenue from commodity exports.

Malaysia is the largest net exporter of petroleum and natural gas products in south-east Asia, and its finances have not been immune to the effects of the collapse in prices.

The government estimates that oil & gas revenue will account for just 14.6% of total revenue in 2016, down from 30% just two years earlier. Dividends from the state-owned oil company, Petronas, are forecast to fall to MYR13bn (USD3.1bn) in 2017 from MYR16bn in 2016 and MYR29bn in 2014.

However, the fall in commodity revenue has not triggered a rating downgrade. The sovereign has kept its ‘A-’ rating, which has been on Stable Outlook since mid-2015. GDP growth has remained a credit strength despite the negative terms-of-trade shock.

Fitch expects the economy to grow by around 4.0% in 2016 and 2017, which is at the bottom of the government’s 4.0%-5.0% target range for 2017 but above the median of Malaysia’s rating peers.

Capital expenditure has fallen in the oil & gas sector, particularly at Petronas, but the impact on GDP growth has been partly offset by increases in consumer spending. Household spending continues to be supported by a hike in public-sector salaries that took effect 1 July 2016, and will receive another boost from a 26% increase in transfers to lower-income households included in the 2017 budget.

Impact of GST

Reasonably strong GDP growth has helped to stabilise Malaysia’s federal government deficit and debt levels. The introduction of a new Goods & Services Tax (GST) in April 2015 has also provided support to non-oil revenue. The government expects the GST to generate MYR40bn in 2017, up by 3.9% on the 2016 estimate, and forecasts a 3.4% increase in total federal government revenue in 2017.

The federal government deficit target for 2017 is set at 3% of GDP, which would be a slight fall from the government’s estimate of 3.1% in 2016. Fitch expects the 2016 deficit to come in at 3.2% of GDP, but views the 2017 target as achievable.

Fitch believes it is unlikely that the target will be missed by enough to push public debt above the self-imposed ceiling of 55% of GDP. Fitch estimates that federal government debt will remain under 54% of GDP at end-2016.

The impact of the 1 Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) affair on government policy making, political stability, and fiscal finances has been limited so far, but it remains a source of uncertainty. Fitch views 1MDB as a close – if informal – contingent liability of the sovereign, and will be monitoring it for any discernible negative effects on Malaysia’s fiscal position. Its unresolved issues also illustrate how governance standards remain a weakness in Malaysia’s credit profile.

[02/11 09:35] Rosdi maybank: Good morning. Despite the unexpected higher-than-estimated China manufacturing PMI, the FBMKLCI kicked off the month on a softer note, easing 1.53 points or 0.09% yesterday. Market sentiment was also dampened by the lower oil prices. Today, the local stocks would likely to remain weak in tandem with the overnight decline in US stocks as well as the falling oil prices. Traders may stay sidelined for now, ahead of the US Fed interest rate decision and also US presidential election on the 8th Nov. Resistance: 1,675 & 1,692. Support: 1,652 & 1,645.

Reuters-Wall Street sold off on Tuesday, with the S&P 500 closing at the lowest level since July 7, amid growing concern over the impending U.S. presidential election and prospects for higher U.S. interest rates.

Stocks pared losses after falling steeply in early afternoon trading as the S&P 500 breached a key technical level.

The tumultuous presidential race between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump has appeared to tighten in the past week after news that the FBI was investigating more emails as part of a probe into Clinton’s use of a private email system.

“There is concern over Trump being unexpected, because the market has really priced in a Clinton win and it hasn’t priced in a Trump win at all,” said Ken Polcari, director of the NYSE floor division at O’Neil Securities in New York.

The selloff in equities comes as the Federal Reserve holds its two-day policy meeting, with its statement due on Wednesday. While traders do not expect the central bank to raise interest rates just a week ahead of the presidential election, they are looking for signs confirming that the Fed is set to hike rates in December.

Real estate .SPLRCR, telecommunications .SPLRCL and utilities .SPLRCU stocks – sectors that tend to perform poorly in rising rate environments – sold off especially sharply.

“It’s really hitting the dividend-yielding names harder than anything else…,” said Stephen Massocca, chief investment officer at Wedbush Equity Management LLC in San Francisco. “I don’t know if there is a new ‘taper tantrum’ sort of building here on concerns the Fed will act in December and the whole low interest rate environment is about to change.”

“Taper tantrum” refers to the period in 2013 when markets were rattled by the prospect of the Fed gradually reducing its stimulus program.

The S&P 500 .SPX lost 14.43 points, or 0.68 percent, to 2,111.72, its biggest single-day percentage drop since Oct. 11.

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI fell 105.32 points, or 0.58 percent, to 18,037.1, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC dropped 35.56 points, or 0.69 percent, to 5,153.58.

ES Ceramics shares traded slightly above last Thursday’s lows of 46.5 sen, the worst in 7½-month amid light bargain-hunting interest. Apparently, the stochastic and the 14-day relative strength index are ticking up. Combined with the buying signal on the moving average convergence/divergence histogram, they suggest prices are likely to firm in the short term. A clear penetration of the uppermost 100-day simple moving average of 55 sen will lead to a re-test of the all-time high of 65.5 sen or higher into the uncharted territory. Crucial support is set at the 44 sen mark.

PRESTARIANG was generally range-bound the past 2½-month, undergoing consolidation. Technically, the short-term indicators, namely, the stochastic and the moving average convergence/divergence histogram, are painting a pretty encouraging landscape, implying prices are poised to advance in the immediate term. A decisive breakout of the uppermost 200-day simple moving average (SMA) of RM2.44 may propel the shares higher to the RM3-RM3.02 area. The next upside objective will be to challenge the historical peak of RM3.27. Important support is pegged at the 100-day SMA of RM2.11.

RGB International rose to high of 22 sen last Friday, the best since August 2009, before turning range-bound asorbing sporadic profit-taking activity. Based on the daily chart, prices are expected to face heavy resistance at the 23 sen barrier, of which a major breakout will see the bulls becoming more aggressive, en route to the upper hurdle of 30 sen. As for the downside, initial support is seen at 19 sen, which is the 21-day simple moving average. An additional floor is lying at the 16 sen level.

Wow 1 more month and 25 days we will celebrate Christmas !! ❤️
Anyway back to world happenings:
1.Today our TAIKOR go visit CHINA, what are the outcomes ? in future, our CUCU will serve china.. Anyway as for now, the plan is to sign 10 Agreements and MOUs.

2. FBI dig into Hillarious punya Email clearly affected her chances of winning. Also it was said that DNC chair Donna Brazile gave tips to Puan Hillary before the questions were asked in the debate. This is like…. INSIDER DEBATE !! If insider trade kena SC tangkap, INSIDER DEBATE DO WHAT? Lose election loh.. so that AMERICA CAN BE GREAT AGAIN !

3. OPEC Seems to be failing to reach an agreement with both IRAN and IRAQ backing out, distorting the OIL sentiment. Both Brent and Crude oil are trading below $50. Please with this kind of market I would not advise to hold any Oil and Gas Stocks.
4. RUBBER related counters will be affected by the increase cost for latex production. TOPGLOVE, ESCERAM, COMFORT, SUPERMX

Recently a lot of Foreign Fund pulling out from our market. A deep dive today happened to the KLCI and I think it is the doings of these Foreign Fund, and our Institutional Funds mainly EPF are currently supporting the market. This bubble will burst. Be careful.
